  2. Travel Sickness
Motion sickness, often known as travel sickness, is a common condition. While the exact cause of motion sickness is unknown, it is thought to occur when there is a conflict between what your eyes see and what your inner ears, which help with balance, sense, causing a jumble of contrasting information to be sent to your brain.

There are a number of over the counter medicines available to treat and prevent motion sickness in both adults and children, as well as natural herbal remedies and acupressure bands which do not have any side effects.

Other things you can do to minimise motion sickess include keeping your eyes fixed on the horizon instead of moving objects, opening a window to let fresh air in if possible and closing your eyes and trying to sleep. You should avoid reading or watching a film, but listening to music can help to distract you. To keep motion to a minimum, try to sit in the front seat of a car or bus, over the wing in a plane, or in the centre of a ship or on the upper deck.
