Lanacane Cream
Lanacane Cream is an anaesthetic soothing cream that provides fast, effective relief from itching and irritation from conditions such as insect bites and stings, nettle stings, everyday cuts and scrapes, skin chafe and external vaginal and external anal itching.
Lanacane Cream contains the active ingredient benzocaine which works below the skin's surface to anaesthetise sensory nerves, stopping itching and irritation and eliminating the urge to scratch.

Directions
- Always use Lanacane Cream exactly as detailed in the instructions. You should check with your doctor or pharmacist if you are not sure how to use the product.
- Lanacane Cream is for external use on the skin by adults and children aged 12 years and above.
- Before first use, pierce the tube seal using the spike on the cap.
- Apply the cream to the affected area.
- You can repeat the treatment as needed up to three times daily for up to one week. If symptoms persist past one week, consult your doctor.
- If you forget to use Lanacane, do not use a double application to make up for a forgotten treatment. When you remember, apply the cream and continue with the treatment.
Ingredients
- Active Ingredient: 3% w/w Benzocaine.
- Other Ingredients: Chlorothymol, Diethylene Glycol Monoethyl Ether, Docusate Sodium, Perfume, Glycerol, Glycerol Monostearate, Isopropyl Alcohol, Stearic Acid, Sulfonated Castor Oil, Trolamine, Water, Zinc Oxide.
Cautions
- Lanacane Cream contains sulphonated castor oil which may cause skin reactions.
- Do not use Lanacane Cream if you are pregnant or breastfeeding without first consulting a doctor.
- Please tell your doctor or pharmacist if you are taking or have recently taken any other medicines, including medicines obtained without a prescription.
- Medicines are not always suitable for everyone. Before you use Lanacane Cream you should consult your doctor if you have general itching all over your body.
- If you are allergic (hypersensitive) to benzocaine or to any of the ingredients in this product or any local anaesthetics (butyacaine and procaine) or para-aminobenzoic acid, parabens or paraphenylenediamine or to commercial hair dyes.
- If you are under 12 years old.
- On large areas of skin, skin rash, sunburnt, infected or broken skin or on the mouth or eyes. Avoid inhalation.
- If you have a slow or irregular heartbeat.
- If you have a history of or are suspected to have abnormal blood pigment levels.
- With sulphonomides or cholinesterase inhibitors.
