Be Clear on Cancer - Blood in Pee

If you have seen blood in your pee, even once, then you need to tell your doctor. It might not be anything serious, but there is a chance that it could be a sign of bladder or kidney cancer.

Around 8000 people die from bladder or kidney cancer in England each year. 84% of those diagnosed with kidney cancer and 77% of those diagnosed with bladder cancer at the earliest stage (stage 1) will live for at least five years. At a late stage (stage 4), this drops to 10% and 9% respectively, so it is important to speak to your doctor at the earliest opportunity.
