Vitaquick

Vitaquick is a neutral-tasting modified starch powder used to thicken food and drink instantly, for use in the dietary management of dysphagia (swallowing difficulties).

Vitaquick is available in 300g and 2kg tubs - simply choose your desired size above.

The dosage of Vitaquick is to be determined by the clinician or dietitian and is dependent on the age, body weight and medical condition of the patient.

To use Vitaquick, simply add to hot or cold liquid or puréed food whilst stirring briskly. Stir until completely dissolved and leave to thicken for approximately 1 minute.

As a guide, the following number of Vitaquick scoops can be added to 150ml serving of liquid or food (hot or cold) to achieve the following consistencies.
  • Thickened Fluids: 1 Scoop
  • Thick Purée: 3 Scoops
  • Soft Food: 4 Scoops
1 scoop weighs approximately 5g of Vitaquick

Additional Vitaquick may be required for milk based drinks and certain commercial sip feeds. For best results when thickening commercial sip feeds a whisk or "shaker" is recommended.

  • Not for use as a sole source of nutrition.
