Woodward's Gripe Water

Woodward's Gripe Water relieves griping pain and waves of severe abdominal discomfort (infant colic) due to trapped air in the tummy in babies aged one month to one year. It is an antacid and antiflatulent medicine.

Woodward's Gripe Water is alcohol and sugar free. 
  • Children 1 to 6 months: One 5ml spoonful.
  • Children 6 to 12 months: Two 5ml spoonfuls.
Give during or after each feed, up to six times in 24 hours. If symptoms persist, consult your doctor.
  • Active Ingredients: Terpeneless Dill Seed Oil 2.3mg/5ml and Sodium Hydrogen Carbonate 52.5mg/5ml.
  • Other Ingredients: Maltitol Liquid, Glycerol, Sodium Salts of Esters of p-Hydroxybenzoic Acid (E215, E217 and E219), Disodium Edetate, Propylene Glycol and Purified Water.
  • Woodward's Gripe Water is sugar free but contains maltitol, which may affect blood sugar levels. Therefore if your baby has an inherited intolerance to some sugars, check with your doctor before giving this medicine.
  • Woodward's Gripe Water contains hydroxybenzoate derivatives (E215, E217 and E219) which may cause allergic reactions, possibly delayed.
  • Woodward's Gripe Water contains 0.7 mmol (16.1mg) sodium per 5ml dose and 0.4 mmol (32.2mg) per 10ml dose.
Do not give Woodward's Gripe Water to a baby: 
  • Who is allergic to any of the ingredients.
  • Has kidney problems.
