Beconase Hayfever Spray
Beconase, which includes a range of products contains a medicine called beclometasone dipropionate. This belongs to a group of medicines called steroids (also called corticosteroids). Steroids work by reducing inflammation.
Beconase is used to prevent and treat inflammation in the lining of the nose (rhinitis) due to seasonal allergies, such as hayfever and year round (perennial) allergies, such as animal allergies.
Beconase reduces swelling and irritation in the nose which helps to relieve the symptoms of itching, sneezing and a blocked or runny nose.
Care should be taken with where steroids are used and for how long they are used.
The active ingredient is Beclometasone Dipropionate (50 mcg/spray). The other ingredients are are microcrystalline cellulose, sodium carboxymethylcellulose, dextrose, polysorbate 80, purified water and the preservatives benzalkonium chloride and phenylethylalcohol.
Over 18 years: Two sprays into each nostril morning and evening.
Under 18 years: Not recommended.
