Normaloe Tablets 2mg

Normaloe tablets contain the active ingredient loperamide hydrochloride, this reduces the speed at which the gut contents are pushed through the intestines, allowing more time for water and electrolytes to be reabsorbed from the gut contents back into the body. This results in firmer stools that are passed less frequently.

Ingredients:
Loperamide Hydrochloride 2mg

Directions:
Adults: 2 capsules initially, then 1 after each loose stool for up to 5 days. Maximum 6 capsules in 24 hours.

Warnings:
Do not use if the diarrhoea started during a course of antibiotics

Do not use if the diarrhoea contains yellow or greenish mucus or blood or if you have a fever

Do not exceed the recommended dose of this medicine

If symptoms last more than 24 hours consult a doctor

Do not use if it causes swelling of the stomach

This medicine does not rehydrate you – drink plenty of fluids or take oral rehydration therapy

Do not use if under 12

Do not use if sensitive or allergic to any of the ingredients

If you feel you have experienced an allergic reaction, stop using this medicine and inform your doctor or pharmacist immediately.

Do not use in pregnancy or breastfeeding unless directed to by a doctor

Possible side effects include:

• Constipation.
• Dizziness.
• Drowsiness.
• Abdominal cramps.
• Abdominal swelling.
• Flatulence.
• Indigestion.
• Nausea and vomiting.
• Paralysis or inactivity of the intestine that stops the movement of material through the gut (paralytic ileus).
• Skin reactions such as rash and itch.
