Viola Chlamydia Health Care Test

Viola Chlamydia Health Care Test is a quick, simple and effective home chlamydia test kit for women that detects chlamydia trachomatis, the most common type of chlamydia, with results in just 20 minutes.

Chlamydia is one of the most common types of sexually transmitted infections in the UK, yet often has no symptoms, so it is important to test regularly as left untreated, it can cause serious complications such as infertility, ectopic pregnancy, premature birth or urinary tract infections. It can also be passed on to your baby.

Viola Chlamydia Health Care Test uses a vaginal swab to take cells from the cervical area so is suitable for women only.

If you do test positive, it is highly recommended that your sexual partner takes a suitable test and is treated at the same time if necessary.

Viola Chlamydia Health Care Test contains a swab, plastic bag with cartridge test, sample bottle with buffer solution, desiccant and instructions. You will also need a watch or clock so you can accurately time when the results are ready to read. Reading the results too early or too late will give an inaccurate result.

Before sampling to avoid urinating for at least an hour, because otherwise you may get incorrect results.
  1. Remove the swab from the package. Choose a comfortable position. Carefully insert the swab into the vagina up to the cervix (the upper end of the vagina). Rotate the swab evenly for about 30 seconds, then slowly remove the swab.
  2. Dip the cotton swab in the bottle containing the sample, so that it touches the bottom. Rotate the swab in the solution and squeeze it several times against the walls of the bottle to make sure that the sample thoroughly mixed with the buffer solution.
  3. Wait for 5 minutes. If you wait too long or too short, the results will be inaccurate. While waiting swab must remain in the bottle.
  4. Close the sample bottle and shake it again lightly. Hold the bottle cap up and remove the tip of the cap.
  5. Place 2 drops of the solution in the "S" in the test cartridge. Ensure that no liquid falls in the wrong place as this will invalidate the results.
  6. Wait for 15 minutes. If you wait longer than 20 minutes you will be able to reliably interpret the result.
Reading and interpreting the results
  • Positive result: A sample is considered positive if there are two purple lines in the cassette reaction (from "C" and "T"), even if the coloured line at the "T" is very poor. A positive result can often be read before the 15-minute response time.
  • Negative result: A sample is considered negative if there is only one purple line at "C". A negative result can be determined with certainty only on the end of a 15-minute reaction time.
  • Invalid result: The result is considered invalid if it does not get any purple line at "C", or there is just a line at the "T" in the test or the entire test field will turn purple.
