AniForte Slippery Elm Bark Powder is a nutrient-rich supplement that works quickly to support the gastrointestinal tract of cats and dogs, harmonising stomach and intestinal activity by forming a natural layer in your pet's inner stomach and intestinal wall. Made from gently dried and ground 100% natural American red elm bark, it has been proven to be extremely safe and fast-acting and is particularly ideal for supporting your pet's digestive system after diarrhoea and vomiting. It can also help to prevent swallowed hairballs in cats from becoming matted and pass through the intestines more easily. If the swallowed hairs are still not excreted immediately, then the elm bark has anti-inflammatory and soothing properties on the mucous membranes.
AniForte Slippery Elm Bark Powder has high level of acceptance in terms of taste but if your pet does not like the mixed syrup, you can try stirring the elm bark powder into home-made chicken broth instead of water.
Directions
Mix 4g of powder (1 measuring spoon equals 1g) with about 250ml of cold water in a steel pot. After a brief boil, remove the pot from the stove and continue stirring until the powder has completely dissolved. Let the slippery elm syrup cool down before drawing it into a syringe without a needle and administering it to your pet's mouth.
Administer the syrup ideally 30 minutes before regular feeding. Do not mix the slippery elm syrup into the food, as excessive mucus production can hinder nutrient absorption.
- Dogs up to 10 kg: 5ml twice daily
- Dogs over 10 kg: 10ml twice daily
- Cats: 5ml twice daily
If, contrary to expectations, your pet does not like to take the prepared syrup, try mixing the slippery elm powder into homemade chicken broth instead of water. The prepared syrup will keep up to 6 days in the fridge. Please make sure to feed it at room temperature.
