Beaphar FIPROtec Spray

Suitable for puppies and kittens from 2 days old, Beaphar FIPROtec Spray for Cats and Small Dogs is and effective and affordable way to treat fleas, ticks and biting lice on cats and small dogs under 10kg, whether you are treating a single animal or a whole litter. The active ingredient is Fipronil, a veterinary strength ingredient that kills ticks for up to one month on cats and dogs, and kills adult fleas for up to two months on cats and three months on dogs. For continuous protection, reapply every 4 weeks.

This easy-to-use pump-action spray will treat several litters of kittens or puppies, a short-haired cat weighing 4kg approximately 8 times, a dog weighing 5kg 3 to 6 times (depending on hair length) or a long-haired dog weighing 8kg twice.

If you are dealing with a flea infestation it is important to treat your pet's basket, bedding and regular resting areas, such as carpets and soft furnishings with a household flea spray such as Beaphar FLEAtec Household Flea Spray.

Directions

ALWAYS FULLY READ THE PRODUCT LABEL BEFORE USE.

Wear gloves when applying. Only use in a well-ventilated room.

Weigh your cat or dog carefully, and consult the Beaphar FIPROtec Spray dosage information before application.

Apply 6–12 pumps per kg of body weight (3–6ml per kg).

  • Remove the protective cap, and hold the bottle 10–20cm away from your cat or dog at a 45° angle.
  • Spray the entire body of the animal avoiding eyes and mucous membranes, making sure that the whole coat is dampened. Do not exceed the recommended dose. Ruffle the coat to ensure the product makes contact with the skin.
  • For treatment of the head areas and when treating young or nervous pets, application may be carried out by spraying onto a gloved hand and rubbing the product onto the coat.
  • Allow the animal to dry naturally. Do not towel dry.

Ensure treated animals are allowed to dry in a well-ventilated room.

Do not confine animals to an enclosed space or pet carrier until the coat is fully dry.

When treating young animals ensure they do not become cold while their coat dries.

Once treated, keep animals away from fires and other sources of heat for a minimum of 30 minutes and until the coat is fully dry.

Do not allow children to play with your pet until the coat is fully dry. 

For continuous protection, reapply every four weeks.

Ingredients

Fipronil 2.5mg/ml, Copovidone K28, isopropyl alcohol and purified water.

Cautions

  • Do not use on kittens and puppies under 2 days of age.
  • Do not spray onto broken or damaged skin.
  • Do not use on pregnant animals or lactating cats.
  • Do not use on sick or convalescent animals.
  • Do not use simultaneously as other flea products applied to the animal.
  • If contact is made with skin, wash thoroughly with soap and water, seek medical advice if irritation persists.
  • Avoid contact with eyes and mucous membranes. Should accidental eye contact occur, rinse immediately with clean, fresh water and seek medical advice if irritation persists.
  • People with asthma or a known hypersensitivity to insecticides or alcohol should avoid contact with Beaphar FIPROtec Spray.
  • Product is highly flammable, do not spray on or near a naked flame or incandescent material. Keep your pet away from naked flames and heat sources for at least 30 minutes after application and until the coat is fully dry.
  • It is important to ensure animals do not lick each other after treatment. Oral ingestion of Fipronil can cause hyper-salivation.
  • Fipronil may adversely affect aquatic organisms. Do not use spray in areas containing aquaria, fish tanks and bowls, do not contaminate ponds, waterways or ditches with product or empty pipettes.
  • Do not use on rabbits, serious adverse reaction or even death could occur.
