Cetraben Lotion
Cetraben Lotion relieves the symptoms of eczema, psoriasis, dermatitis and other dry skin conditions. Suitable for adults, the elderly and children over 1 year, it is ideal as a lighter option between flare-ups and for covering larger areas of skin and can be used on the hands, face or body throughout the day. It absorbs and dries quickly and is supplied in a pump dispenser, helping to avoid mess and waste and ensuring quick and easy application.
Cetraben Lotion contains 3 main ingredients to moisturise dry skin and lock in moisture:
Cetraben Lotion is available in 50ml, 200ml and 500ml pump dispensers.

Cetraben Lotion contains 3 main ingredients to moisturise dry skin and lock in moisture:
- White Soft Paraffin: this forms a protective barrier on skin surface and decreases transepidermal water loss (TEWL).
- Light Liquid Paraffin: this replaces lost skin oils to increase skin surface lipids (SSL)
- Glycerin: a humectant that attracts and holds water in the outer layers of the skin and compensates for reduced levels of Natural Moisturising Factor (NMF) in diseased and older skin.
Cetraben Lotion is available in 50ml, 200ml and 500ml pump dispensers.
Directions
- Apply to the skin as often as required, or directed by your pharmacist or GP, to ensure continued hydration throughout the day. We recommend that you treat skin as frequently as possible, or as a minimum at least twice a day
- Apply liberally to the affected skin, as often as necessary, ensuring that the area is well covered
- Apply gently in the direction of hair growth until absorbed
- Avoid rubbing vigorously as this could trigger itching, creating more heat in the skin
- Apply emollient before and after you bathe to protect skin from dryness
Ingredients
White soft paraffin, Light liquid paraffin, Glycerol, Emulsifying wax (SLS Free), Cetostearyl alcohol, Phenoxyethanol, Citric acid, Sodium Hydroxide, Purified water.
Cautions
- Do not use if you are hypersensitive to any of the ingredients.
- If this product comes into contact with dressings, clothing and bedding the fabric can be easily ignited with a naked flame. You should keep away from fire when using this product.
- For external use only.
- Do not swallow.
- Avoid contact with the eyes.
- Cetraben Lotion contains cetostearyl alcohol which may cause local skin reactions.
- Talk to your doctor before use if the skin is badly cracked, infected or bleeding.
- Using Cetraben Lotion during pregnancy and breastfeeding is unlikely to have any ill effects. If unsure, talk to your doctor or pharmacist.
