Johnson's Veterinary One Dose Wormer for Cats & Kittens

Johnson's Veterinary One Dose Wormer for Cats & Kittens is a single dose treatment containing Pyrantel Embonate and Praziquantel 20mg to kill both roundworms and tapeworms commonly found in cats in the UK (Toxocara cati, Toxascaris leonina, Dipylidium caninum, Taenia taeniaeformis, Echinococcus multilocularis). It is suitable for cats and kittens over 6 weeks of age weighing at least 1kg, including during lactation (but not pregnancy).

Directions

The tablet should be given directly to the cat, but if necessary can be disguised in food.

Weigh your cat carefully before calculating the dose. The number of tablets needed to treat your cat depends on your cat's weight. Give 1 tablet for every 4kg bodyweight. The tablets are scored so that they can be broke in half easily.

  • >1-2kg: ½ tablet
  • > 2kg - 4kg: 1 tablet
  • >4kg - 6kg: 1 ½ tablets
  • >6kg: 2 tablets

In ascarid infections, especially in kittens, complete elimination cannot be expected, so a risk of infection for humans can persist. Repeat treatment should, therefore, be carried out with a suitable roundworm product at 14 day intervals until 2-3 weeks after weaning. 

Ingredients

  • Active Ingredients: Pyrantel Embonate 230mg, Praziquantel 20mg
  • Other Ingredients: Core tablet: Maize starch, Microcrystalline cellulose, Crospovidone Magnesium stearate, Colloidal anhydrous silica. Film coat: Grilled meat flavour, Opadry Complete Film Coating System 03F28415 White consisting of HPMC 2910/Hypromellose (E464), Macrogol/PEG 4000 (E1521), Titanium Dioxide (E171).

Cautions

  • Do not use simultaneously with piperazine compounds.
  • Do not use simultaneously with other deworming products without veterinary advice.
  • Do not use in kittens less than 6 weeks of age.
  • Do not use in animals with known hypersensitivity to the active substances or to any of the excipients.
  • Do not use during pregnancy.
  • Not intended for use in cats weighing less than 1kg bodyweight.
