Johnson's Veterinary One Dose Wormer for Dogs
Johnson's Veterinary One Dose Wormer for Dogs is a single dose treatment containing Nitroscanate 500mg, a broad spectrum anthelmintic that kills tapeworm (Taenia hydatigena, Taenia pisiformis and Dipylidium caninum), roundworm (Toxocara canis, Toxascaris leonina, Uncinaria stenocephala, Ancylostoma caninum) and hookworm in dogs aged over 12 weeks and weighing over 8kg.
Johnson's Veterinary One Dose Wormer for Dogs is available in 3 sizes:
- Size 2: for medium dogs up to 20kg (contains 2 tablets)
- Size 3: for medium & large dogs up to 40kg (contains 4 tablets)
- Size 4: for extra large dogs up to 80kg or homes with more than 1 dog (contains 8 tablets).
It is recommended that adult dogs should be wormed routinely 2-4 times a year. Since the most common tapeworm of the dog (Dipylidium caninum) is transmitted by a flea it is important to stay on top op flea control to reduce the incidence of tapeworm in your dog.
Young puppies should be wormed very regularly for roundworm with a suitable product. Johnson's Veterinary One Dose Wormer for Puppies & Small Dogs (Size 1) can be used at 12, 16 and 24 weeks of age. An alternative worming product must be used in younger puppies.
Nursing bitches should be treated at 2, 4, 6, 8 and 12 weeks after whelping.
Directions
Give the required number of tablets first thing in the morning when your dog's stomach is empty, with about one fifth of his daily food ration. The tablets should be given whole. Tablets are filmcoated and should not be broken or divided. To reduce the risk of vomiting, it is recommended that the remaining food ration is withheld for eight hours after the wormer dose.
- 8-10kg: 1 tablet
- 10.1-20kg: 2 tablets
- 20.1-30kg: 3 tablets
- 30.1-40kg: 4 tablets
- 40.1-50kg: 5 tablets
- 50.1-60kg: 6 tablets
- 60.1-70kg: 7 tablets
- 70.1-80kg: 8 tablets
Ingredients
- Active Ingredient: Nitroscanate 500mg
- Other Ingredients: Titanium Dioxide (E171), Iron Oxide Yellow (E172), Iron Oxide Black (E172), Iron Oxide Red (E172), Maize starch,Sodium starch glycolate (Type A), Microcrystalline cellulose, Sodium laurel sulfate, Magnesium stearate, HPMC 2910, Polydextrose FCC, Macrogol 4000.
Cautions
- Do not use in dogs weighing less than 8kg.
- The product should not be administered to puppies less than 12 weeks old, owing to the need to restrict food intake at the time of administration.
- When administered as recommended is unlikely to cause vomiting.
- Do not repeat treatment if vomiting occurs shortly after dosing.
- Do not administer if your pet is sick or recovering from an illness.
- Do not use in known cases of hypersensitivity to the active substance or to any of the excipients. If a hypersensitivity reaction occurs treatment should be discontinued.
