Iron is an important mineral your body needs to make healthy red blood cells. If you don’t have enough iron, your body cannot make enough red blood cells, which could result in a condition called iron deficiency anaemia. Knowing the reason for “feeling tired” is essential for your overall health: 12-15% of women and 2% of men are iron deficient. If iron deficiency is left unchecked, it can affect your brain, physical fitness and immune system.
2San Iron Deficiency Test detects ferritin, a protein that stores iron inside your cells, and its level can help indicate whether you might have iron deficiency anemia; a ferritin concentration below 30 ng/mL may indicate an iron deficiency. Low ferritin levels may also indicate other conditions such as hypothyroidism, vitamin C deficiency, or Coeliac disease and is also seen in some patients with restless legs syndrome. For a confirmed diagnosis, you should consult with a healthcare professional. If the result is normal, but symptoms like paleness, feeling tired, headaches, faster heartbeat, or shortness of breath persist, it is recommended that you consult a doctor.

Directions
- Pull off and dispose cap of lancet.
- Clean fingertip with alcohol pad.
- Press the lancet against the fingertip.
- Massage the pricked fingertip to obtain blood drop.
- Put capillary dropper in contact with blood and draw the blood to fill line.
- Put the collected blood into the sample well.
- Add 1 drop of the buffer.
- Wait for the coloured line and read the results at 5 mins.
Cautions
You should read all instructions before using the test. The test should not be used if the packaging is damaged, and it should not be used after its expiration date. The test must be stored at room temperature or refrigerated (between 2-30 °C), and you should not eat, drink, or smoke in the area where the test is being conducted.
The results are generally accurate if the instructions are followed carefully. However, incorrect procedures, such as insufficient blood volume or the test getting wet before use, can lead to erroneous results. Also, there may be rare cases of false results due to immunological principles. Therefore, it is always recommended to consult with a doctor for such tests.
