Pharma Nord Bio-Vitamin D3 Capsules contain vitamin D3 (cholecalciferol), the most easily absorbed form of vitamin D that is naturally produced in the skin and are formulated in cold-pressed olive oil for high bioavailability.
Do I need Vitamin D?
Vitamin D3 is produced in our skin when exposed to adequate ultraviolet light from the sun, however many people in the UK are lacking due to lack of sunshine during parts of the year. In addition, our modern lifestyles tend to keep us indoors and the food we eat rarely contain enough vitamin D3, if any at all. Vitamin D is important as it contributes to the normal functioning of the immune system and the maintenance of normal teeth and bones for optimum bones and joint health. It can also help to support normal muscle function and plays a role in how well our bodies absorb calcium.
More than one billion people worldwide are estimated to be deficient in vitamin D3. Symptoms of vitamin D deficiency include fatigue, hair loss, back and muscle pain and The UK government recommends a vitamin D3 supplement for several key groups of people, including:
- Pregnant and breastfeeding mothers.
- Young children from six months to five years old.
- People over 65 years of age.
- Those with low or no exposure to the sun.
